2 From Free Frozen Freeball
For those considering joining this trip, we have some minor updates.
We have negotiated a switch to the PGA Sultan course for the last round of 5 during the week. This is the premier course in Turkey and rated one of the very best in the Europe. The price is also remarkable and probably the last chance to play golf in this region for so little.
A cold windy & frozen sunny day saw 31 seniors venture out after a bit of delay. Today’s format of 2 from 3 stableford meant that the last person drawn had to play the monthly rolling stableford and it happened to be Rod Young who came in with a good score of 37 points.
Once again we had a DQ card due to third member of the team not recording a handicap against his name. Again this card belonged to early birds and would have finished 2nd if the card was correct. I once again appeal to your better natures to check your cards before handing them in.
Mark Cording once again topped the table with his team (Nobby Hodder and Bert Robinson) with 83 points as wells getting two 2’s on the 16th by Mark & Nobby. Been told that one was a couple of inches from the flag on the 9th and the other 5 inches on the other side of the flag.
With the 2nd best card being disqualified, John Wandless, Mike Hone and John Weir with 80 points occupied 2nd place and finally Bob Barrow, Andy Rowland and Chris Rudling taking the 3rd place with 79 points B9.
1st M Cording, N Hodder & B Robinson 83 £5.00 Each
J Wandless, M Hone & J Weir 80 £3.50
B Barrow, A Rowland, C Rudling 79 £1.50
There were THREE 2’s paying £1.66 per person per birdie.
M Cording, N Hodder & Bert Robinson 2 £3.33 each
G Brent, D Asquith & J Stephens 1 £1.66 each

Not much optimism around for Friday weather..but of course we will be up there to give it a go as usual won't we.
