OK gentlemen, this is an update mainly intended for our newer Members and those getting older and dafter !
The Notice Board is beginning to fill up with sheets for you to append your name and participate. We have no elitism , but obviously certain comps are best suited to different levels of handicap.
We'llpost the notices here briefly, but it will be up to you to find them on the Notice board or under Internal Comps; External Comps; Inter-Club Matches; Challenge Cup; Avalon League etc etc
here are some to start with as spring approaches quickly.
We play 35 Matches home and away at local Clubs. It's 4BBB Matchplay and very friendly. Involves a Meal and sometimes jacket & tie (each club is individual) - This are great fixtures to get involved with and Captain willapptreciate your name on the list,so he can pick a team and have a couple of spares.
These Sheets will always be in 'Interclub Matches'

Each Month we have 2 formal Qualifiers for you to maintain your handicap and be eligible 'Worldwide' to play in Competitions. Usual you indicate Early or Late preference and play in groups of 3, then enter your score on the Club Computer.

The Challenge Cup is a popular Comp, played over 3 rounds at selected away venues. Format is Individual Stableford and you accrue a score over the rounds to then play in the Cup or Plate Finals held at home. Even if you fail miserably you will have a fun day out, butties & meals usually available and Car-share highly recommended.

Wednesday 18th March - St Patricks day fun night up at the Club - put in Diary for now and flyer will be out shortly.

Another Qualifier as above - you may as well play in these as there will be no Roll-Up on these days as all slots will be taken,

We Unite with the Ladies once more ..but I'd be amazed if we manage to get a shotgun start - usually food involved. Posted in Internal Comps.

This is already in External Comps but we need more players . High /Low combinations work best so lets have a few names please. Big formal Dinner and a long day but if you've never played at Lyme it is a beautiful course. You play in pairs - so those 4-pointers are extremely valuable. We have zero chance of winning as scores over about 45 for each of 4 teams is usually required. Come and join us, I'll play with anyone so don't worry about it.

This Comp and the Avalon League are a bit more serious - as you really need to be able to play to your handicap on a variety of courses - but great for those of you still young and foolish enough to have testosterone circulating in your body.
