16 teams were represented in the latest round of this competition, with some excellent scores and only one 2, which netted Roger Hinds and his team £15.00. The pairing of Alan Chance and John Evans recording a truly excellent 46 points, with 27 on the back nine, in the nicer conditions. When questioned of the high score, their excuse was Johnny putted everything from everywhere.
One heavy wintery prolonged shower sent the odd two players doing the rolling stableford for cover of the clubhouse. There was nearly a stewards enquiry and scrolling through the rule book, as the first two teams finished in just over 3 hours and the remainder of the field were well over 4 hours. It was suggested they " may have played for time" and waited for the better weather. Special mention for Messrs. Bonney and Davis who were left to play solo rounds and yet both had very reasonable rounds of golf. The leaders coming into today, were only mid-table so everything is to play for in January.

The one 2 was on the 9th by Roger Hinds and narrating this in the bar he was suitably pleased, but not so when his team mate, our last Captain, said it was lucky. Footnote to Peter, we reiterate the famous words and mantra of Gary Player " it's strange the more I practice the luckier I get".
We will reconvene on Friday 10th January.
