Roll-Up 11th November 2019
Winter League Round 1 & Remembrance Day

First a few snippets of news:-
Best wishes to Rosemary Hill who had a heart-stopping moment over the weekend.

Jenny Hall continues to be very poorly, but has the odd good spell.

Barrie Heath had an unfortunate incident over the weekend as his shiny new car said 'hello' to another...full of the boys in blue...

Bill Hilson up today, he's improving and hoping to be back in a couple of weeks.

Also heard from a friend of Des Denning and he is hoping to be back in a couple of weeks.

The origins of the 2-minute silence are in South Africa where it was cut from 3 to 2 after a trial locally. It was copied from them and after much official arguing, and final approval from King George V.

Farmer Bob hit 77 Today, but unfortunately it wasn't his Golf Score...but he did great work today collating all the cards and calculating the payout. He had a vested interest as he took a drop from 9th Temp Green and proceeded to sink it for a "2".

Quite a gathering today as we started Round1 of the Winter League. It was a bit disjointed as the earlies were left to their own devices so just went out in a 2 & 3 ball. A few others then arrived as teams decided who would play today, ie which 2 from 3. Unfortunately we left them too little time to get out ahead of the 08:58 Start Time for the League. This was compounded as Green Fees had booked 08:50 & o8:58 so they were effectively squeezed out and I believe headed over to the 7th to try and get in a few holes. Apologies to David, John, Geoff, Martin and Barrie.
It was much easier for those that knew beforehand which 2 were playing.

we will get around to the AGM Pictures & Reports but been away all weekend.
