Monday 7th October
Stableford Qualifier
No-one managed to Par Holes 10 or 15 today, which is handy as on Wednesday we play a 'Discard' where Holes 10 & 15 are counted as Par 5 Holes .
apologies to anyone affected by the enforced re-shuffle due to cancellations. On a day like yesterday, it is wise to turn up earlier than '10 minutes before tee-time' . The last 4 players at the tee at 10:15 were Mark , John, Jim & Robin with no-one in Locker Room, Bar or anywhere visible- so we just made a 4-ball and went out together. Alan Richard, Ted, Jeff etc had all cancelled.
Mucky day today which saw a number of withdrawals from the field before the commencement of play in this Monthly Stableford competition.
Actually despite an annoying light drizzle the course and the round were perfectly playable.
Forty two Seniors took part divided into the three divisions.
Overall scoring did reflect the conditions but were reasonable.
Full scores are shown on the club web site and displayed on the Seniors notice board but here is the breakdown of the winners.
The number of prizes per section
is dependant on the number
of entrants per group.
Division One ( 15 ) Division Two ( 19 ) Division Three ( 8)
John Wandless 38pts £9 C/B Phil Dewar 37pts £9 Colin Ireland 34pts £6
Roger Hinds 38pts £6 John MacOmish 34 pts £6 Ken Trott 30pts £3
Alan Davis 32pts £3 C/B
There were no '2s' today so birdies come into effect and with six registered pay £3.50 each.
Phil Dewar, Roger Stone, Roger Hinds, and John Wandless one each and Gordon Brent with two.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Peter Spencer-Farr Seniors Capt.
