Monthly Medal
Usual carnage when we have a medal competition off white tees however the turnout
of 47 Seniors was impressive. Perhaps fine weather coupled with the fact that this was
the last qualifier of the year accounted for the numbers. Mark Cording, in a rich vein of
form, won Division one with a nett 65 and easily played the best golf of the day. This
resulted in a handicap cut, reducing Mark from 13 to 11.
All results are shown on the Club web site and available on our notice board and congratulations
to the following winners by Division:-
Div One 0 to 16 (18 players) Div Two 17 to 24 (29 players) Div Three 25 and above (9 players)
1st Mark Cording 65 nett £9.00 Richard Holmes nett 70 £14.00 Ian Frost nett 70 £6.00
2nd Alan Chance 72 nett £6.00 Derek Gardener nett 71 £9.00 Clive Fisk nett 75 £3.00
3rd Gordon Brent 73 nett £3.00 Mike King nett 73 £6.00
Well done to all the money winners. In addition there was only one '2' which saw Ian Frost
scoop the pot of £28.00 for his birdie on the 16th. It is often felt that payment for '2s'
favours the lower handicappers, pleased to note then that Ian is a division three player. Hope
for all!
