Roll-Up Monday 30th September 2019 3 Ball Individual Stableford

Roll-Up Monday 30th September 2019
3 Ball Individual Stableford  - All Scores to Count - Blind Draw

Did anyone notice how easy entering scores were into the Computer on Monday. That clever young Man, Mark Atkin has set up a new system without that annoying dropdown menu that blocked the numbers and we can enter each card directly without that individual having to log in or out. Each card took us about 20 seconds.

 Well done Sir !

In case I forget, Terry Hackling has rung in to cancel from the Cyder Cup as an old Rugby injury has arisen and he is unable to move his neck & shoulders.
Have you booked the Cyder Cup Yet, there will be no other Seniors Golf that week (14,16,18 Oct) - get your name on the entry sheet please.

Weather Gods smiled on us again as all today's competing Seniors finished a three ball competition without a hint of the impending rain.

This was a TEAM competition where on completion of the

individual rounds a blind draw was conducted to establish the winners.
John Pearce did the draw on an app on his phone.

This was an attempt to integrate all our players, earlies and lates.
As this comp produced individual scores it was entered on the computer and became a qualifier.

We do need to embrace this as from January input will be mandatory for every completed round.

What did cause a lot of discussion was that for today should we pay for birdies (as published on the blog) or '2s', In the past we always paid for team two's, the only difference here was the blind draw. Therefore,  I made the decision it should be for '2s'.

I do apologise for not asking for the blog to be amended.

Bob Barrow and Dave Taylor scored a fine two on the second hole, sorry guys if you disagree, nearly at the end of my year!

All three of the winning team were in the thirties as Mark Cording, Phil Dewar and Roger Davis won with 109 points. Well Done. Full results below:-

Roger Stone has contacted everyone who is entered for the County Stableford at Orchard Leigh on Friday 4th October - CST have a very strong group of players and well done to Roger for rounding up such a large group.
We will post on External Comps when we get time.

Richard has posted a notice for the AGM on Friday 8th November

So if you have any issues or topics requiring a Vote - Let Richard know or your voice cannot be heard at the AGM - we have learned the hard way that this is the only way we can conduct a meaningful meeting and allow us to go home in reasonable time.

Captain's Dinner on Friday 1st is picking up speed and around 50 already booked and many more saying they are coming. We have plenty of Bachelor Boys attending so there is no problem if you are a 'Singleton' -
but of course we really love to see the ladies.

From Left to Right..
Phil ended up in winning Trio, then Roger in Third place and the consistent Jeremy in 2nd.
Alastair....You're Fired

Fastest Group were Richard, John & Nobby ( buggy) - although Nobby took 20 Minutes to reach the tee after being drawn out first, then 20 more to rattle off excuses..."I had to get a Buggy' - 'I had to get my Clubs' - 'I wasn't sure if I was playing' etc - No-one wants us all to be speed merchants, but if you are a little on the slow side getting ready - get your gear out beforehand. Everyone was desparate to beat the forecast rain.. Soon caught up with last group of earlies, who left us after 15th, where we then caught up with George, David & Ian - who slowed us down a tad but we still got in by 12:35 which was pretty good for a Seniors 3-Ball , 3 Hours 25 Mins.
