Match Report
According to forecasts the match against Taunton and Pickeridge G.C.was sure to be rain
affected and much discussion was had between the clubs as to whether or not to proceed.
In the end the decision to play was correct as the day turned out warm, sunny and dry.
Who pays the Met Office? We took a strong team and following our earlier win at home were confident of a good showing.
No excuses then for only the second whitewash of the year losing six nil.
The course was in great condition, we had good food and a fine days golf.
Lots of fun except for the result.
For the record:-
Peter Spencer-Farr/ Mike Hone Lost 2 & 1
Roger Stone/ Ian Griffiths Lost 3 & 2
Alan Chance/ Roger Davis Lost 4 & 3
Dave Mugridge/ Barrie Heath Lost 4 & 3
Mark Cording/ Chris Gingell Lost 6 & 4
Edmundo Paoloni/ John MacOmish Lost 2 & 1
Chris Gingell was nearest the pin winning the wine which he kindly donated
for our next raffle. Only two matches left now, Enmore home and away, big
challenge for us to finish on a winning note!

Roll up today was Canadian Greensomes which went ahead in lovely conditions.
Twenty one pairs competed and for some reason found scoring difficult. For instance only three birdies were recorded all day.
One team, however was head and shoulders better than the rest with
a score of gross 75 nett 62.25, David Asquith and Dave Mugridge.
Bob Barrow described
Dave Mugridge's play as outstanding, praise indeed.

Maurice set a high standard for putting and hit some great shots today..but unfortunately you can't do it alone in this format..
..just after a 2 on the 16th and an amazing back 9.
Flash News - Dowell & Spencer-Farr card a 7 on the 5th hole...can this be possible.....
But a booked 4-Ball pretty much dictated the pace of the Late Roll-Up and the Pearce/Arnold 2-ball had a lot of waiting around...we were joined by Bryan Frost who is still getting his Rotator Cup sorted. ..so he just walked around, hitting the odd ball.
