Seniors Medalford
WEDNESDAY 17TH
July 2019
Forty five Seniors played today in a Medalford competition which incidentally was the same number as the last time we played it.
Players are split into the three divisions with the prize money spread evenly across the field.
Well done to Nobby Hodder who won division three with an unprecedented nett
score of '9'.
Nobby has been having group golf lessons with our Professional Roy which are obviously paying off.
Fifteen birdies paid £1.50 each and full results are shown below.
JKP Note:- There was some talk that all "Individual" Comps would be Twos and not Birdies as decided by the Committee - I know it was discussed but we did not agree to this from what I recall ( and I have read the Minutes) as I for one don't think it is the right way to go, ignoring say a birdie on 5th for a Two on the 16th - it favours a certain type of Golfer. The Blog Roll-Up Page informs us what we play on the Day, which has been composed by Andy and agreed by Captain. No Problem with Qualifiers, Opens, Scrambles etc that always say "Optional 2's" .
Peter Spencer-Farr Seniors Capt.

Prize Money Divisions One & Two 1st £8, 2nd £6, 3rd £4.50
Division Three 1st £6.
There were fifteen Birdies Each paying £1.50
Great fun up at the Horizon's Suite as Dickie & Jenny Hall organise another social gathering and a bit of fun for Seniors Pie-Night.
Putting for £20.00, Irish Bingo, proper Bingo , Heads & Tails - you name it we tried it, plus thanks to 2 hampers provided by Margaret & Jenny we raised some money for the captains Charity.
A couple of you didn't quite 'putt-out' and bypassed Isla at the Cashiers Desk, so could appreciate if you can settle up when you can, or let us know and we will do it for you if you are not up for a while.
Putting Contest involved trying to place your ball on the Queen's head at 20 feet and some amazing attempts with both Norman & Margaret landing on identical spots on the note resulting in a 'Super-Over' 2 put final- which Margaret won as Norman tried to be sneaky and put down the cracks in the lino.
Denise, Isla and the team did a great job looking after us, with 2 other events taking place in the other Lounge and those pies were excellent, thanks to Andy & the Kitchen team.
..why not join us next time.....
Meanwhile lots going on at Roll Up followed by some Team Sheets and Competitions for your attention...
