..and the Match Report....
Another fun match in sunny weather as we played away against Vivary Park Golf Club. I can report that we had a great win by 4 points to 2. Vivary is a tight course with every hole tree lined with hitting a straight ball paramount. They could easily rename their club as the 'Forest of Vivary' All the more reason then to be pleased with the result. The Vivary course was in good condition with their greens running at about the same pace as ours which led to low scoring and competitive matches. The after game buffet meal was excellent and we look forward to our return home fixture in early September.
For the record:-
Peter Spencer-Farr/ Lyndsey Gage Halved
Roger Davis/ Martin Leigh Lost 5 & 4

This year’s Challenge Cup series came to an end on a fantastic sunny day with two groups playing for the Cup and Plate with some very good scores.
There were 8 seniors that didn’t pay their £2 entry fee. It will appreciated if it is paid when they turn up for next roll up.
Congratulations to Roger Hinds scoring 40 points beating Danny Dowell on B9 score with Edmondo Paoloni finishing in 3rd place with 37 points.
Well done you three.
There was a bit of confusion about the winner of the Plate. Not knowing who was out with no sign of marked cards in the Cub House, Bob Rees was declared as the winner only for 4 cards appearing once the box in the changing room was checked.
The eventual winner was Ron Sutherland with 40
points, Bob taking the 2nd place with a score of 39 and Bert
Robinson finishing in 3rd with 36 points. Well done guys.

the first thing we noticed today was the beautiful new clock mounted on the Starters Hut.
...well maybe not next time....
As we stood on the tee at around 09:46, after the earlies, Cup Players and Nobby's executive players had started, Frank Martin found himself drawn with Chris Gingell and the Captain, and decided to throw out a challenge...
I bet my team can beat your team, he said to Farmer Bob, Roger & JKP...as the £2 wager was accepted.....on the 9th tee Frank and co were looking worried as the captain had only scored 9 points, not knowing that JKP had only scored 8....
..but magnificent Pars on 11th & 13th saw JKP lead his team to a 10 point victory and the £2 each was proudly accepted....OK Bob & Roger in the 30's helped a little..
Roger must have been leading the field after 6 Holes with about 15 Points,,but faltered a little in the heat.
