Texas Scramble

 Knighton Heath Challenge :-

Unfortunately not our finest hour, following a long trip down to

Meon Valley Golf Club, near Southampton, we encountered a championship course that was in excellent condition but we  were not expecting it to rain for the first time in a month.
It started at mid day and lasted all afternoon.
So rather took the edge off things.

We just managed to avoid a complete white wash, with Danny Dowell securing a half point in the first match out, but despite some valiant efforts, as several games were lost on the 17th hole,  this was our only success.

The club house facilities and hospitality were greatly enjoyed afterwards and we wish Meon Valley good luck in the next round.

Roll-Up Report 3-Ball Texas Scramble 29/05/2019

11 early birds and 20 late seniors turned out today in cold, windy and somewhat damp conditions, yes it really was this cold on 29th May, hence not so many legs on show today

With not enough rain yet to penetrate the fairways you still had to guess how short of the green to land your ball otherwise it was gone through, this with the windy damp conditions, scores were not as good as we would normally see.

There were four 2s today, paying out £1.25 per person.

Danny, Dave, Steve, Bob, John W, Roger1, Roger2, Ian, Alan & J-Mac off to play in the Knighton Heath Challenge at Meon Valley Golf Club

As usual no-one bothered updating sheet on NB so we still don't know how many Mike won by....

early Birds in stunning form...but unfortunately not this trio but Jeremy, Neil &  Gordon

..and the sound of Gordon's  knees-knocking

As the low cloud descended around 13:00
It was strange to see Dave watering in the rain..but apparently it's 370% more efficient as in the sunshine there is so much 'burn-off'

Please do not scroll below this point.....

Good Heavens !
Yes, this was one of our Golfers Today who was fine when he started out ..
...so the Wife is in for a nasty shock...
