Monday 19th November
2 from 3 Discard Stableford

Another good turnout with players taking advantage of dry if not warm weather conditions.
There were 18 early birds and 33 followers taking part in the 2 from 3 Stableford Discard Competition.

The winning trio of Steve K, Martin L, and Jim Mac had the run away score of 78 pts to win it in style.

Fresh from his £30 win on Sunday making 46 points with his partner...no wonder the Leigh's dine out!

10 Birdies were also recorded. Modesty does not permit the author to mention his two on the 9th hole which finished eight inches away for a tap in.

Full 'scores on the doors' and prize money are listed below.

Just a few housekeeping items to impart:

Our resident professional Paul is running Seniors Group Coaching Sessions which commence on Thursday 6th December at 9am. Cost is £8 per person payable on the day and will cover, (over a period),most aspects of the game. Classes with a max of eight people will give you every chance to improve your game.

I still have in stock 5 seniors blue golf shirts available for the modest sum of £30.
Sizes are 2 @ Medium, 2 @ Large and 1 @ Extra Large. Why not get your significant others to treat you for Christmas?

The greens are now wet and very receptive and in
consequence any ball pitching will leave a divot. Some greens are already showing signs of battle. Please make every effort to find and repair your own marks and maybe even attend to a second, if visible. Thanking you in advance!

Prize Money:   1st £6ea,  2nd £5ea, 3rd £4ea, 4th £2ea.

How do you win in this format ?
be like Roger Davis on 10th.

Roger makes a 3 which would normally be 4 points, but as we played as a Par 5 it scores 5 points. Syd then follows up with a 4, which with 2 shots and playing as Par 5 bags them another 5 points...
There is your 10
The perfect Score.

Mind you they did have to discard holes 1,2 &3  which is not the best way to start !
as early morning Dewar sets good target

Like others, the cold wind was causing many a watery eye....but Bob's was because he missed the putt

..as John Wallis broke down and John Pearce went AWOL !

Upsetting new from Ted, hope he doesn't mind me putting here,
but lots of people were asking about him.

Hi Guys,

As some of you know I've been concerned for a while that my Cancer had returned.  A month ago I went to the Doctor, because I had a lump under my arm. I was fast tracked through to Dorchester Hospital. Two weeks later I had tests and then  waited another two weeks for the results, which I got yesterday.

Unfortunately, it is an aggressive cancer which needs removing urgently, so once again I have been fast tracked and they will do the operation on November 28th. There will then be another two week wait to see if the Lymph nodes removed have been affected by the Cancer. If so, then it will possibly be Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy.  They think it may be linked to all the Hormone therapy I had for my Prostate Cancer.

As you can imagine I'm a bit shell shocked today, but we are remaining positive, taking it a day at a time, but we've both never known time pass so slowly.

I hope to be able to play next week, before an enforced recovery period. Thank goodness, it's the Winter, I'd hate to be missing the good weather.

See you soon, best regards Ted B.

Note to Keith - JKP has Jeremy's £3 subs.
