Canadian Greensomes - Stableford

Sunday Update -  Further cuts to seniors (Gordon Brent & Steve Kitcher). Steve went round in Gross 81 , scored 41 Points and is now a handy 14 Handicapper - as he continues to find our course to his liking.

Steve , of course,  had a Nett 65 in our Medal on 24th October.

Info from Frank Martin Seniors Handicap Secretary.

Barrie hands the money to Chris Williams of CLIC Sargent. Chris and his Wife Carol had a life-changing experience when their own Daughter had cancer and appreciated the work or CLIC to look after them during and after all the treatment. They were so impressed Steve became a major fundraiser and his Wife gave up her job in a bank and re-trained to become a CLIC Nurse.

They wrote to Barrie today:-

Hi Barrie, thank you very much for the pictures we will make sure head office has them.

We really enjoyed our evening and the excellent company of the Seniors,. Once again thank you to everyone a t the Golf club who contributed so generously  and your fund raising will go a long way to help the young people CLIC Sargent supports.

Very best wishes.

Chris & Carol

Even better, as the cheque for CLIC was already written, The £255 raised by the raffle goes straight into Pete's 2019 Guide Dog Fund. 10 Years ago , that was about all we raised in a year, how things change.

Canadian Greensomes  Pairs Stableford Comp

Friday 2nd November 2018

' Gentlemen apologies for the tardiness of this report but it was a splendid Captain's Dinner and my case rests!

Friday saw a good turnout for the pairs Canadian Greensomes and the weather was exceptional for early November. Warm and sunny with no wind chill factor.
What is that old adage ' When the leaves linger longer the winter lasts longer' Hope not! Twenty four pairs contested and looking at the scores, overall totals were not
as high as usual. Greens were true if a little fluffy, so not that then. Maybe the soft ground is catching people out? Personally have to find something to excuse my c--p play.

Congratulations to Fred Oliver and Jerry Stephens who did produce the fine winning total of 42 points.

There  were 12 birdies with the winnings rounded up to £1 each.
Able to distribute monies to the top five teams as per the listing below.

Hope to see as many as possible at next Friday's AGM in the Horizon's Room, where Tea, Coffee & Biscuits will be provided.

Regards Peter S.F.( Vice ) '
