Rollup Report 12th Nov 2018
Reverse Waltz - 3,2,1
We were lucky today, lots of squally weather bore down on us and then veered away towards Ilminster, leaving us in blustery yet dry conditions. 15 early players and 27 later players competed in the reverse waltz. Two people were left to post a score in this month's rolling stableford with George Willerton registering the leading score for November at 33 Pts. The very first team out today set the pace and won with the excellent winning score of 80.
As the new Capt on the block I want to try to foster an on-going spirit of unity . I refer to the early and late situation every roll up. I do completely understand the important need for some players to go out from 8am for no other reason than the limited tee times and also the fact that people do have other pressing commitments. However with the guarantee of starting first with the later group at 09:00am I can see no reason why anyone not drawn in a team can't hold back for the odd 15 to 20 minutes It could be done by consent, by last drawn out or on a rota basis. I just hate the US and THEM comment! I think that no-one in the first group should be doing rolling stablefords.
There, I've put my position, you can tell me that is not my stated premise of ' If it ain't broken don't fix it', and to get knotted however it would be, to my mind, a positive development. Clean comments gratefully received.
Back to the report, prize money is spread between the first four teams and with a total of 13 birdies each paid a team amount of £1.60 ,please see the chart below.
