Farewell to Brian Anderson
Seniors Captain 2006

As around 70 gathered at Taunton to say goodbye and support Siri and her Family.

The Golfing World was the largest section , especially the Ladies and Mixed Sections.
Siri at the Centre in the World's End Pub.

..but dozens more that had to leave after the Service.
Dickie & Jenny, Alan & Rosemary, John & Iris, Ted & Judith, Vic, John & Judy, George W... plus Geoff  & Janice, Ron & Linda, Malcolm and of course all those pictured above.

As usual, we learned so much more about Brian. Born in Grayford , Kent in 1936 very near to Woolwich Arsenal - so when The War hotted up - his Dad moved Brian & his 3 Sisters out to Worcestershire. Ended up in Weybridge & enlisted in the scouts. called up for national Service and served in the RAF as a medical Orderly.
De-mobbed and became a Shop Manger at Lipton's Grocery Store- before retraining as an Insurance Agent with United Friendly and went Door to Door.
After his marriage to Valerie ended, met Siri  around 2000 and they clicked immediately- claiming it was his bushy eyebrows that clinched it.  Married down in Somerset in 2003.

Brian had a love of Steam Trains and was a bit of a History buff.

H
e was also a bit car crazy and had his own TR7 - but got lost when his Son Greg took him to Goodwood Revival and Brian wandered off for several hours.

H
e had 2 Children, Greg & Kay, with 3 Grandchildren Emma, Oliver & Thomas - but Emma was the only one able to attend.

Siri was pretty amazing all day and was especially pleased when she looked up and found herself surrounded by so many from Windwhistle Hill - so well done to everyone.

Apologies if I got anything wrong, but it's hard to note so much down without  appearing like a reporter from the local rag.
