Roll Up report Monday 8th October
1,2,3 3-Ball Bowmaker

Firstly a reminder about today ( Tuesday 9th October)

Suggest we meet up at Club around 13:00 for car-share to Taunton if required.

I can take 3 or 4 if needed.
(Ian Fielder now booked.)
..and Billy Hilson..

Don't forget Captain has a Match, so please make sure you are not playing..or at least let him know.

15 early birds played in the competition today followed by 30 later starters, plus 4 playing the Rolling Stableford, (2 from each section)

Scoring was reasonable but only one team made it into the 80s today, in almost perfect golfing weather, As I was waiting on the 13th tee I did try and take a picture of JP on the 12th
green putting for what I thought was a birdie, which he got but then it turned out to be only a par, so I don’t mind now that I blurred the picture, in fairness he did birdie the 17th  but by then the press & cameras had moved on to the 19th.

One note, I am looking for payment for the Minehead Challenge, please pay me or Keith, or place it in the post box in an envelope suitably marked with your name & Minehead challenge, I left some envelopes on top of the filling cabinet for this or the winter league.

Brian Anderson’s funeral tomorrow, I’m sure that Sira & the two children + any seniors attending will give Brian a great send off.

There were 14 birdies today, paying £0.53p per player.

Apologies to Avalon Teams as I got the scoring all wrong for the Semi-Final as it was actually just a 3-2 Loss because the scoring I used was for the league...so it was EVEN CLOSER that in John's riveting report.  I hear John W is standing down in 2019 to build a 4 storey extension to his house and  a man that has nerves of steel when in a tight situation has stepped forward to run the event..but it's not in my remit to leak names here...…

Have you booked the Captain's Dinner for November 2nd yet - Barrie and Lorraine have done a lot of negotiations with the Club to get us some special considerations - and of course Andy Chisnall is back in charge of the catering.  It's a lovely evening being held in the exclusive 'Horizons Suite' and YOUR CHANCE to thank Lorraine for letting Barrie play so often and devote so much time looking after The Seniors Section - believe me it takes an awful lot of time processing results, finding teams, solving disputes, dealing with the Club, planning schedule, liaising with other Clubs, Telling Jokes at matches, Planning Opens...etc etc.

It's Barrie's last push for his CLIC Charity and the raffle prizes are usually 'to die for'.....hint-hint....

Menu is on the BLOG and on the Notice Board -

Nick Hill has been working hard for the captain & vice - sorting out the teams for the Cyder Cup next week.
Remember this Comp will dominate the Roll-Up for the whole week and it will be no use you just turning up cold. You will  not be fitted into a team as this has led to too much confusion and disagreement in the past. See Cyder Cup page on this site.
