Hi Guys
Could you put the following on the Blog please front page.
For those playing at Minehead tomorrow, be aware that there are large hold ups in the Cross Keys area of Taunton, due to Road works.
Make sure you leave yourselves plenty of extra time for your journey. All last weeks there were half an hours hold up to get past the area.
Regards
Roger

Match Report vs Enmore 26/10/2018
We travelled to Enmore Park GC today, for our last friendly match
of the year, after inflicting our first home defeat of the year on us only 2/3
weeks ago we were bracing ourselves for a
very tough away match, and I guess we were not disappointed although we fared better than we expected.
very tough away match, and I guess we were not disappointed although we fared better than we expected.
The course was in good
shape for this time of year, they had their course maintenance a short while
ago so the greens still had a bit of sand on then, the leaves were the biggest
problem when looking for your ball.
Nearest the pin in 3 on the 491 yard 18th par five was the prize today, which
was won by Richard Holmes, with his ball being only a few inches away from the
hole.
The food was good, bacon bap and coffee upon arrival, followed
post-match by a one course meal and coffee, this has to be the way to go next
year, it worked well last year and I would have done it this year if it hadn’t
been for our old friend Sean, bless him, I do believe that Peter will be able
to sort this out between Alex and Andy for next year.
As this was my last match as Captain, I would like to thank all
who have played this year, the teams were mainly built around a squad of about
10 regulars, with others playing were and when they could, I have to say the
atmosphere has been great, with the usual banter/ wind-ups going on, may it
long continue. I will do a list of players/results when I have a bit more
time.
Good luck to Peter for next year, I know he will do a great job, and
his jokes will be better.

Roll up Friday 26th October
3 Man Texas Scramble (5 drives each)
With
the Captain leading his team of 7 pairs, away at Enmore GC, hoping to recover
from a heavy defeat at home earlier in the season, the roll up was down on
numbers. However there was a turn out of 33 players in the scramble and two
further players in the monthly rolling stableford. The weather was rather
blustery with intermittent passing drizzle. Play was rather slow and the later
players got rather cold waiting for the slower teams in front of them. A Texas Scramble should
be a quick competition.
Farmer
Bob was going through the cards and mentioned that there were no 2’s and was
checking out the amount of Birdies, then the final card came in with the only
2spot of the day, well done T.Brydon,Nick Clarke, and Chris Hiam £16.50 paying
out £5.50p each.
Winning
team today £5 each, 2nd £4
each, 3rd £2 each.
Two
players took part in the Rolling Stableford, Paul England 33 pts, Phil Hunt

It
was noted that all the cards were marked correctly and neatly, which made the
adjudicators job really easy. Thank you Gentlemen.
