3 Ball Texas Scramble
Update for Friday Morning
Update for Friday Morning
CHALLENGE
CUP
and PLATE FINAL
Will be held on Friday 29th June. It is a
Stableford of full handicap played off the yellow tees, the top 17 who have
qualified for the final are listed below, anyone else who has played in at
least one round can play in the plate final.
Everyone who 'Rolls-Up' will play and Individual Stableford.
Vice Captain will attend both Roll-Ups and attempt to group Cup, Plate and Roll-Up in Threes - but it is not essential to keep separate. All will be entered on the Computer where we hope it will count as a Qualifier - then Farmer Bob will extract results for the Cup, Plate & Roll-Up - so anyone turning up can play.
Please remember to put on your card which competition you are playing in
Challenge Cup Final or Plate, there
will be enough checking of cards to do after and this will help. If there is no Game Marking, we will assume you are playing in the Roll-Up.Thank you.
Large turn out today in hot hot hot weather.
It does not seem long ago we were all complaining about cold, wet, foggy
weather and now we are desperate for rain as the course bakes to a crisp golden
brown. Fifteen teams of three played in a 3 ball Texas scramble. Whilst I
realize that the ball is running for England, which brings the shorter hitters
more into play, it does seem that the general standard of play for
seniors is excellent and improving. Today every team produced a score well
under net par. This was a highly contested competition which in addition
produced ten two's. The spoils went to the last team drawn out of Bob White, Robin
Flower and Martin Leigh. Well done everyone.
