Tuesday 26th June
Divots day at 09:00

Mick Started early with 71 Holes to go.
By 11:00 they were on hole 7 of 2nd Round and going strong...surely all that effort is worth a couple of £££ in the bucket tomorrow...thanks to all the Divot Fillers who generously donated this morning.

Collection Bucket will be on the Bar tomorrow, along with the sponsor sheet, added Captain, Ted Bryden & Roy Miller after Emails, £100 Ted, very generous of you...I think that's what you said !!!

Look forward to seeing as many as possible to fill those Divots - we can't do much about the lack of rain but for the Seniors to support the Club in this way when they have especially asked for our help sends a great message.
See you at 09:00 with your bucket & trowel !
some went to 5th, another group were over on the
 1st as we got started...
Some pressure tee-shots as we stepped aside for Golfers

Pete had a trowel and Jan's favourite mop-bucket...but kept talking about his great win at Fosseway with Mick Aldridge

Some of the assembled, with JKP, Ian G, Dickie, Ray and lots more still arriving

Great to see David Lawrence & Graham Bentley out there playing , along with James & Diana Dick, who enjoyed the captive audience.

Match Report vs Fosseway away 25/06/2018

5 day’s after entertaining Fosseway at home we find ourselves playing them again but now on their own patch, although their course is not long most of there fairways are lined with trees on both sides, in fact it almost makes our course seem rather open, the greens were very hard with not a lot of grass on some of them making putting and approach shots very difficult, add the very hot day which made it quite energy sapping.

  Results

Barrie Heath/ Richard Hall               Lost 5&4
George Wallace/ Andy Beale           Lost 1 down
Peter Spencer-Farr/ Mick Aldridge Won 3&1

                Match Result                     Lost 3 1/2 - 2 1/2

George & Andy were unlucky as they lost on the last to a birdie.

Again thankyou to all for making the effort as I know it’s not, shall I say a
first choice for anyone to go too, but the guy’s are friendly + the food was excellent.

4BBB Stableford

Bit of confusion at the start as Roll-Up board said Full Handicap but Blog said 90% - In the event the late Roll-Up had to follow what was on the board (100%) - but when checking the cards , Farmer Bob found that 3 earlies did 90% and 5 did 100%  ..go figure. In the event it was no big deal as all Gross Scores were correctly entered and he could re-mark the cards - adding points to the 90% boys - which in fact put them into the money.

Captain & Vice were over at Glastonbury but still had 40 Players. Danny was down in Exeter playing a 36 Hole Comp, whilst Mrs Danny was in a Match versus Sherborne. Ruth had a tough opponent as when we passed them on the 6th, and commented that we had recently played there with the brown greens - she rebuffed me and said it was only the fairways and anyway, it's not much better here...so good luck Ruth !

Nice to see John Chance back after they had to re-open his replacement Knee scar. Apparently he had asked specifically for a rotating joint so he could see who is standing behind him on the tee..but had just been given the Denning-Type...

Richard Forster was up to draw round 2 of the Summer KO - which will be place in the Summer KO Page. We looked at the Roll-Up schedule and provisionally picked Wed July 18th as a Roll-Up Day to play the Round, but you are welcome to play anytime but this round must be completed by Wed 25th July. Also Keith notes that 5 Players have still not paid their £2 entry, Gordon, Malcolm, Mark C, David W & Jeremy B .

An Email from Vice will be delineated on Challenge Cup Page for the Final played on Friday 29th -where all those with 10 Points or More will Play in the Challenge Cup , and everyone else that has played in any round will be in the Plate - see details in Challenge Cup Page for how it will work according to the gospel of St Peter !
Said hello to our new Groundsman..then forgot his name...

We are starting work on the Open and start sheets will be up shortly ( Alan Davis). Mark Coleman has withdrawn, so Bim will assist with Starting. Keith Branchflow will now collect your £15 Entry Money so that he has less hassle on the day .

..and so for today's result - well we thought we had a steady old round coming in with 40plus...but blown away we were with Chris Blasterfield and Johnnie Good Evans with  47 Points - Wow.
