Wednesday 2nd May
Soggy Roll-Up
..or was it ?
Yesterday the Club declared it was the 31st April - so we were robbed of our May Day- how cruel.
Forecast was pretty bad and Blog had predicted we would be wet until 10:47- which was spot on as Dave closed the course as a low cloud dominated the ambience and a lot of rain had fallen.
Despite Barrie's pleas, like 'we'll use temporaries' - they would not re-consider until 10:47.
so a dangerously bored group sat in the Clubhouse,
'Hands-Up who wants to play in this ?' - was the question
 |
Unanimous I guess !
The Sweetie asked - "Why are you never in the Pictures ?
So I gave him a demonstration.
I departed for Yeovil to buy more wood, but as I came back passed the Tee at 11:00 it looked like Farmer Bob and a few others were just about to tee-off..so 100% marks for persistence.
Captains Match Report vs Weymouth
01/05/2018 (away)
We arrived
at Weymouth in dry conditions but as Andy & I reached the first green we
had a heavy squally downpour thankfully it soon passed over, I believe we all
had an enjoyable day with good company & good food personally I’ll pass on
my golf.
The match
was poised at 3-2 to Weymouth when I was told that we lost the last match on
the 18th to a 7 apparently, they all lost or went out of bounds of
the tee.
...One of the Weymouth Team had a roundabout route to the 1st Tee - he arrived via Cricket St Thomas - Oops ! - so joined his partner on the 6th Hole.
