Harper 3-Towns
Friday 20th April

And of course who we remember, Keith and his Dad Ken Harper.
Also new on the course is the beautiful bench on the 11th Hole, which is now enhanced with a brass plaque.
It is placed by   "CSTBOSS" - Jackie - Dedicated to her Father, Mother and Brother.

Also we said goodbye to Denise who has been running the show up there for 6 Months. There is  a farewell party & presentation up at Bar tonight. Denise is off to work at the Eype Holiday Park..and guess which other ex-CST Lady also works there...
I'll miss The Seniors most of All...apart from that Billy Hilson of course...

We'll put the report below the Charity Appeal, to force you to read it. Well done to those that stepped forward, think he may just need one of 2 more, but no doubt Barrie will update us.
So read below the appeal for today's Report....

Captain's Appeal - Clic Sargent
Thurs 3rd May

Captain & Stuart have worked tirelessly to get Teams from all over the Country to attend this Major Charity event....but CST Players are not yet signing up....

It may cause you to put your hand into your pocket as there is a slap-up meal, with wine, lots of prizes, spectacular raffle and a chance to play YOUR PART - Cancer and Leukaemia In Childhood.

Thank You Granddad

See Barrie's appeal below - don't worry if you are any good or not, a 28 Handicapper is at his most dangerous in 4BBB - those odd 3 or 4 pointers are gold!

See special page on this BLOG for details.

John could you please put a note on the blog for more players we still need about 6 more players to come and support the Seniors' Charity day, they can add their name to the list on the notice board were they will find all the details of the day or just let me know & I will add them, tell them not be afraid of letting the team down as the main aim is just to raise as much money as we can for our charity.

Thanks,

Barrie

                         Harper 3-Towns Report 20/05/2018

                     Congratulations to Chard 2018 winners.

54 seniors took part in this competition today in apart from the first hour or so was played in glorious sunshine, there were a few discussions early on as to how the scoring should have or could have been done but judging from the cards it proved to be an easy way of scoring.

Well done to Bryan Frost and Ted Bryden who were the only two winners from Crewkerne
I think Bryan & Ted are thinking of moving towns for next year unless the rest of us promise to
do better.

I know John has already done a nice piece on the blog about Ken & Keith Harper whom this competition was named after, two great stalwarts of the seniors section and we wish the family all the best for the future with I’m sure many happy memories.

All the money will be paid out to the winners, Chard who will get £6 per player.

Many thanks to Vice-Captain Pete for collating all the scores and updating the Master Score Display which caused such merriment as the totals grew. Keeping the Flip-Chart Coloured Markers away from the 'Dry-Wipe' Board proved a challenge at times....and all the time looking at his own lowly '1 point'  for poor old Crewkerne.
In fact the last time Crewkerne even got a mention, was  in the 899 will of Alfred the Great who left it to his youngest son Æthelweard.

  B. Heath  (Seniors Captain)

Foggy start, but excellent Discipline as usual

Just a Par for Sid....
But the Sun shone bright a short while later

Bart and Andy laying foundations for Chard Win  with 3 Points    apiece,

All Collecting £6 Each - as did all the 'Chard' Players...

Well done to Nick Hill for organising the Draw and Matching trios so well ( except where changes were made) - He also spent a great deal of time typing and printing all the Scoring Rules and way the Committee wanted the Competition to be Played.
