St. George's Day Bash
Captain's busy week continues as he hosts Wareham at Midday today in Knighton Heath Competition ( See External Comps) - followed by Challenge Cup on Wednesday at Dainton Park.
( Captain - don't forget to tell Pro-Shop that Roll-Up will be 'Much-Reduced' on Wednesday with so many away).
44 seniors
turned out today in this annual event in dry but cloudy conditions, the greens
had slowed mainly due to a lot of growth over the weekend in the lovely warm weather,
I know a lot of players struggled to get their puts up to the flag.

It was good
to see some red & white flags out on the course + hats shirts &
jumpers, not sure if Richard Hall was dressed for golf or rugby but well done
to you all.
In the
future we will try & keep to £1 entry + 50 birdies were possible although
sometimes
we do have to renew or engrave trophy’s so we will see what we can do, our main problem
is that when the entry fee is paid into the pro shop we have no way of having some back if needed so it has to be paid in full to balance the books, we are looking at this at the moment.

No 2s
today so we paid out on 4 birdies paying £1.35 £2.75per player.

CST Seniors inaugural match in the Seniors Avalon League resulted in a convincing victory away
to last season's league runners up Mendip Spring .
Danny and Nick Clarke led the way with a comfortable 3 & 1 win, following by Bob Dennett and Rod Stevens winning in a similar manner 2 up.
George Wallace and Roger Davis struggled to keep in touch with their opponents eventually losing 3 & 2.
Dave Mugridge and John Wandless found themselves 5 down at the turn, but stormed the back nine to win on the last 1 up.
Chris Gingell and Mark Cording crushed their opponents 5 & 4, a formidable performance as Mark had never played the course before.
A great team performance. See Avalon League Page for Full Report.

Thanks to James Siabi and John Evans, who travelled to the
Venue as back-Up. Both elected to play as reserves as James wasn’t feeling too
good, and John said he was not on the best of form. Making my job a lot easier.
They enjoyed playing a match between themselves on a long tricky course.
Next match is away to Mendip GC on Wednesday 2nd May, team sheet and details will be posted in the next couple of days.
