21 February 2018

Wednesday 21st February
Reverse Waltz - 3,2,1

12 early birds and 27 late starters played in todays competition plus 1 in the Rolling Stableford,
two teams were out in front both on 76 pts six clear of third place, quite a few teams said it was a struggle out there today me included with a few tees moved back + being back onto 18 greens did that extra length really make that much difference.

I know one team had a terrible start today with all 3 to count on the first their total score was zero
not the best start, not wanting to give out any names but one was the Captain.

7 birdies today paying £0.92p per player.

Lots going on today as the sun shone and the ground is really starting to dry out. Hopefully someone found their Cobra Wedge that we left on the 11th Tee after finding on the 4th.

I was amused in the Telegraph today where it described the GB Team  efforts in the Winter Olympics. They said the only ones we don't fall over in are the ones where we are already lying down !

Are You entered for the March Hare Yet?
4BBB Competition for the first Silverware of the Season. Captain will do the Draw shortly and publish Tee-Times...Week Friday on M arch 2nd.  Just put your name down if you don't have a partner..I know Bob Rees is looking for a game and Nick Gabb may also be available.

Lots more in the News today, with ex-Golfers remembered.

Amazing that it is now 5 Years
and more recently...

..whose bench Julie generously donated for the 18th Tee

and those bandits last Monday who scored 50 Points !

No Times yet for Olive Irons funeral, but we know it is in Crewkerne on March 9th.

We were surprised how long Greenkeepers took to clear tree debris from end of 1st hole...till we found out they had chipped-up the remains from the last 10-Years of tree felling that were dumped there !!!

Captain George with Dickie & Ronnie..2 local businessmen !
