1st January 2018
Open Skins Knockout Championship
More later, but what a day it turned out to be as Championship was not decided until a handshake on the 18th.
What a start to 2018.
Captain not happy about his Red Lipstick, apologies to all his Children for any distress caused.
Continuing the story of today's roll-up after i've pumped up my flat tyre and put Di's car on charge..
08:45 and No Early-Birds, but we sat patiently waiting for the rain to pass and the faithful members of Roll-Up II to arrive.....
..and we waited....and waited....but not a single person arrived. Car Park looked full, but most were left from last Nights' Hogmanay Party where 240 odd celebrated the New year.

Kathleen and Aaron still in party mood...
actually they were the two that didn't attend the party and
were holding the fort and awaiting the rush of Seniors...
As were Martin and Rachael...
scary........but nice job with the Irish Coffees !
.
Anyway, by around 09:30 and our Third Coffee, the rain stopped and blue sky appeared, so out we went to play Skins and Bob was talked into giving me a shot per hole, which was very generous.
Bob 1 up on the first with a 6. JKP in the hedge. Nett 3 for Pearce on 2nd to level the match.
Bob hits 2 beautiful shots and onto green on the 3rd to make easy Par, then birdies the 4th to go 2 Up.
JKP hits great tee-shot on 5th and putting for a 2 with Bob in trouble. JKP wins with nett 3. Same again on 6th, Nett 3 to lead the Match and go 1 ahead on the 16 with nett 2. JKP in trouble on 17th as ball land inside small tree on right and has to drop out, Bob takes with a 4. JKP in trees again ( literally stayed in tree again) and fine chip to green in 4 nett 3. Bob's 2nd 6 foot past green so a handshake halves the match and no 10p skins changed hands.
We really did hit a purple patch with the weather and a pity more didn't make it as there was no wind and about 8 degrees.
It was very wet in places, but easy to avoid.
Back in for a glass of wine & the last of Katie's Christmas cake.
See Message below from Enmore Park.
Hi guys
Please see Mike’s message to me.
Currently there is a considerable amount of work being carried out in
the Ladies Changing Room, a space I used for male changing during the “Quantock
Stag” competition on August 18.
My records show that C. St. T. seniors were housed in the Ladies
Changing room for that competition and the players named below comprised your
team – unless there were any last minutes changes !!
Please can you check with your team members (John Wandless (13)
& Bob. Barrow (11) Roger Stone (10) & Frank Martin (12); Alan
Chance (14) & John MacOmish (18) Ian Griffith (14) &
George Wallace (13)
If you let me know of any seniors, then I will sort out the
return of the sweater to you.
Ray Hancock Enmore.
Ray
Yesterday Sandie Winter handed me a sleeveless sweater that
is black and has a Cricket St Thomas Seniors logo on it. It is an XL.
It may well have been left in the ladies changing room after the
Stag.
Its a Glenmuir and is in very good condition.
Please let your contact at CST know it is at my place.
It would be nice to get it back to its owner.
Mike Perry.
