Friday 29th December
Last Game of the Year
Vast improvement from Wednesday, when just 4 went out.
Today we had a huge crowd of 7 to battle for the cash on offer.
Weather forecast was fairly bleak, but as we were sat in the bar contemplating, the sun shone outside so it was out with the CST Cards and two teams were drawn.
Some were expecting 18 Holes as the CST update said 9 Holes Open, 9 Holes Temporary - instead of simply 9 Holes Open, all Temporary.
Anyway Captain was there and elected for a Scramble. Farmer Bob was out with Dangerous Roger and Tricky Dicky - so Robert, Roger & Richard led the way and were awarded a 2 shot advantage over the 4-ball to simplify calculations.

Captain was ordered off the Tee.
Blistering pace set by R,R,R with 5,2,4,5,4,5,2,4,4 Round. Two 2's and just the one Bogey as 6th Temp was waterlogged and putting was a complete lottery.
We were impressed as we passed 2nd Green and saw Roger's Tee shot spin towards the hole and stop just 2 feet away..until they confessed he forgot it was Temporary Green and had hit his driver to Main Green.
Fourball of James Hewitt, Captain, Richard Agar & John Pearce were full of confidence as they strode around in the bright sunshine.
but then it began to darken a little....
Can you see the Rainbow above Jim's head....as we bogeyed the Third...
Halfway up the 4th the heavens opened, first with an Hail Storm and then Rain with a driving wind.
It looked black to the West, so Group 2, already 4 behind by now decided to call it a Day.
We walked down 5th to look for Group 1 but couldn't find them anywhere..but later found they were sheltering in the hedge and then resumed their game.
Main Green were all Waterlogged.
So R,R,R took the Money..which was a good job as Former Bob had been beaten in the December rolling Stableford by David Taylor with 35.
Apparently David had been seen several times up the Club in Hedges and Ditches looking for Balls and now has just short of 1 Million at home. He takes the Title from John Bloys as Scavenger of the Year.
..although David now claims he wasn't looking for balls, just a Rule Book !
Funny on the 1st as a strange sight was blocking the Tee,
We think his SatNav was playing up....
He may have been looking for Ted & Judith Bryden
