Friday 22nd December
2 Ball Scramble
14 early
birds played in the scramble today + 1 played in the Rolling Stableford, plus 28
late starters, we started in murky weather but thankfully the mist lifted and
we played in very mild and windless conditions.
There was
some steady scores today plus 8 two’s each paying £1.31 per player. Three
achieved by one team.
Again one team were DQ for only showing 5
drives against their name.
A big thank
you to Ray Gudge who donated the Teignmouth golf voucher towards the Captains
charity, the
winning blind bid was from Stuart Pope for £76.

Capt.
Dickie Hall did the December Draw which saw Pete 3-names scoop the high class Waitrose Hamper made up by Jenny. Nobby won the chocolates and I forget who won the third prize. Excellent £250 Tickets sold and another chunk of cash handed to Captain.

| Picture posted so that Jan can check if he's eaten anything....as Peter commented "I never win Nuffink !" |
As said above, foggy start but cleared to be quite nice at the end. No buggies due to heavy rain overnight, so Mick, Mac and Brian did top 9.
Just behind them, Interesting Davis and Bob the builder were putting out on the 4th...
They posted a 62 I think and as Frank approached, Roger was quick to point out that Bob had the first 5 drives....
Dave set Colin, his partner a challenge on the 14th...but Colin still had to find 3 more drives...
As Ian & Roger waited on 9th, Flag was pushed back from Red Zone to Yellow. Ian's drive landed 18 inches from original pin position, but Roger still sank a 10 footer for a 2 anyway...
Fog lifted a few times and fell back..but finally cleared as Keith calculates which of his one wedges to play to the Green...
no-one told Chris H that he doesn't get his 2 shots today...
..and the drama continued to the 19th hole as one played had a nervous time watching his chip shot bounce twice in the car park and through to the Academy Course...
..what a day to chose as the Bar was filling rapidly as the Party Season started early ...the identity of the player is a closely guarded secret....
