Captain’s Charity Greensomes – 18th March
2016
What a welcome we had today as the immaculate Car Park has been completed, so beware when you next enter as the routing is quite different.
..and the buggies have their own spot
Thank you everyone who turned
out today for this event in what started as a fairly mild day and soon became
very cold. Twenty two pairs played in a format we don’t play often and scores
varied greatly. For once, pairs were made up of a high handicapper and a low
handicapper. In a few cases, where two high handicappers played together, the
lower of the two graciously agreed to play off 18.
The match was won by Des
Denning and Robin Flower by a margin of six shots. They played exceptionally
well and sealed their victory by taking 9 shots for the last 3 holes.
Some way behind were 2 Teams on 40.
(may have 2nd & Third Mixed JKP)
There were only two 2’s and
these were scored by pairs playing together. Despite some scurrilous
suggestions, the captain adjudicated and these will be paid to Robin Flower and
Des Denning, and Frank Martin and Nick Hill.

There will no domestic
handicap cuts.
The entry fee was £5.00 per
pair and only £105.00 was paid into the Pro Shop. If you didn’t pay, please see
Keith Branchflower.
John Pearce donated a box of 12, Pro V1x balls which were raffled and this raised over £120.00, and was
won by Keith Potter on Ticket 378- Thanks for your extremely generous support. An empty box of Pro Vi's was being used to collect money and very ungraciously JKP was asked if he intended to fill it with balls found on the course , how scurrilous !
The March bottle draw was won
by Paul England (bet you’re glad you came) and second prize was won by Keith
Branchflower. Many thanks to Richard for all his extortion, sorry exertion !
On Monday, the Seniors will
play a 2from 3 with the Ladies section starting at 10.00. For those of you who have not entered, a 4BBB will be
played.
