Winter League Results Round 5.
On another
bleak morning with heavy drizzle drifting across the course members went out to
embrace the conditions with some reservations. They need not have worried
because soon after 10 am things started to brighten up and by 11am patches of
blue sky were visible. There was little wind so the course didn’t dry up much
which made it quite hard work so by the time everyone had finished there were
some very tired players recovering in the clubhouse. It would be nice to think that
the next round could be played in slightly easier conditions but don’t hold
your breath, after all the old adage is “February Fill Dyke”.
Scores today
were mainly in the thirties, the best being from singles player Frank Martin
(just getting over his holiday in the sun) with a fine 39 points. He was
closely followed by the potential league winners and second place teams both on
a respectable 38 points.
