Well technically it was a little below freezing and a Northerly wind, but the Sun and the Moon were beaming down on us and in odd pockets it felt really nice. All 18 Holes Open with 9 Temporaries. 2 dry days have really settled the course down, but Wednesday looks like we're in for another soaking.
Dave & the boys had a bevvy of new toys to help them carve out neat slices of turf from the new path to fill in the old one, looking very professional.
At this stage it will just join path from 4th and in the future will go to back of 4th when they can flatten the bump where the seat sits.
Another big turnout with John Wallis actually braving the cold where Brian, Mick, Geoff, Keith, Ken & John probably donated another £1 to the KP memorial fund.
Another 36 Rolled up and 3 went out to play individual, 2 early / 1 late. Ron topped this group with a steady 31 which will probably win him absolutely nowt.
The rest played a Waltz, 1,2,3 to count in a sequence, so ignore the way I have presented in the results as I just wanted to see where the game was won & lost.
Few little individual things caught my eye, but I'm OK now thanks.
The first 'Dream-Team' to crash was Rod(9), Norman (13) and Phil (32) - only 1 to count on the first hole - but who was on the card - Phil for a single point. It was Phil again on the 4th for 3 points - where he now gets 2 shots . On the back 9 Phil slotted in another four 3-pointers including the tricky 10th.
Another Dream-Team, Barrow, Basterfield & Burt - but they made a right B***** of it ! - Falling behind on the 2-to-count with 9 fewer than the winners.
Roger Stone had the official 'Dream Team - but dropping 9 points on the winners over the middle section wiped out their excellent 1 & 3 shot accumulations. 2 Points on 5th, 2 points on 8th accounted for 7 points right there.
Danny's Card was full of rings, with one 'double ring' on the 17th as he drove the Temp green and popped it in for an Eagle- Wow !
Des was putting for Eagle on the 4th after he went beyond the green with his 2nd shot - but by the time he lined up his 3rd Putt Colin has announced '6 for 2' and replaced the flag.
Usual Cuts for Winners and Second. Not that Roger minded getting beaten !!!
So here are the results, thanks to Bob for checking them all out.
