Christmas Cracker– 30th November 2015
Quite a few got into the spirit of Christmas today, despite the miserable conditions...
I want to start by thanking
all those who helped to organise this event today, especially those who signed
members in and took the money, and also those who ran the raffle, those who
prepared a great spread afterwards, and not forgetting our chief scrutineer who
examined all the cards very carefully, especially when his slender lead was
threatened.
Played in very testing
conditions, our scrutineer decided to save many from embarrassment by recording
only the first three scores.
Our thanks go to Barbara
Wilton and the ladies from her section for making this one of the best
supported events of this type for many years in spite of the very windy
conditions. Altogether 48 members braved the conditions and played 15 holes
thus allowing time to make the presentations to the first three teams before
tucking into the spread that Andy and his team had prepared for us.
