Sunday 12th March 2023

I’d just like to add my sentiment sent by John and Danny, it’s a bit hot here at 32 C and the green is slightly obscured by the parakeet.

If you’ve ever seen  “The phantom of the open”, I’m portraying him in Dubai. It’s the Trump course on Monday and Dubai Hills on Wednesday.

I’ll bring back 2 sleeves of balls for the Captain’s charity

See you in Monday Medal...

Friday 10th March 2023

A sad looking Dickie-Hall limped into the Bar this morning to conduct his February Draw.  With gout in his foot, arthritis in his

knee, stiffness in his Hip and a hand about to lose one of its precious digits - he certainly had our attention.

Farmer Bob was Chief Adjudicator and was pleased to select the winning numbers:-

94- Richard Holmes  1 Litre of Red-Label Scotch

141 - Alan Davis - Selection of Craft Ciders

194 - Chris Hiam Box of Luxury Chocolate Biscuits.

All placed behind the Bar for your collection.

In his current condition, Dickie would dearly love to pass on his 'Monthly Draw' to a younger-fitter person. It raised 4 figures for our annual charity and Dickie was warmly thanked via Video call from our Captain in Portugal who couldn't help notice the light snow falling in the background.

..as you may have noticed, news is thin on the ground this morning !!!

Love Terry's casual stance in picture, about as much enthusiasm as he puts into Golf, but still keeps a 12 Handicap.  Both players made a '2' on the 8th hole, but Keith's was for 4 points and was enough to secure the Win.

Rumours abounded about Lauchlan & Thomas smashing 26 points on the front 9 - including a birdie on Par 5 5th by Ian playing off 21...but they faded on back 9 allowing 4 teams to
sweep past them.  Jim was later seen thrashing Jim with a 5 Iron for not displaying enough emotion on key missed putts....

Saturday Update

Did you all get Sir Alex's Email update on Course News & Building Projects but also that they are generously FREEZING SUBS THIS YEAR.

"We are pleased to announce that, due to our confidence in the future, that we can freeze subs at their current rates for the coming year. Hopefully, in the current economic climate, this will be a great help to our loyal membership who continue to support us"

To all Seniors' members

I have very much appreciated today's Barrie Heath visit and enquire re.my well being - the consequences of the crash is that I am still having weekly treatments by an official physio in Yeovil and will have this for few more weeks -the impact has caused discomfort on the upper body specially left side down to my back and my left arm -I cannot make a fist or hold even a fork -the referral from my doctor to the insurance  is that

-Playing with Rod Young Yesterday, we learned that Bob Hollingworth, a Senior of many years, has been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and is moving back up North, to Grantham,  to
be
nearer his Family as his need for support will only increase as we have seen so many times for other members that fell to this horrible affliction. Rod , Bob and their Families have known each other for over 45 Years in the World of Education.

Also Eric the Viking, who recently returned from his North Africa Campaign, has been slashed 2 shots in his Handicap Index after his exploits were uploaded to the Computer that controls our lives.
