Wet & Windy Waltz
JKP, Norman, Jamie, Mike & Derek managed first 6 holes in nice dry conditions. Going down 6th it drizzled a little so decided to Play just the 11 Holes on the West Course..and managed to be on 18th Fairway just as the rain came again.
By 11:15 we were back in the Clubhouse for Coffee & cake . Sorry to hear sad news from James Parkhouse that MS has been added to his list of ailments - but he resolved to fight-on as long as he could.
I see a few more names have been added to Ladies Christmas Scramble on 5th December - with Mike, Derek & Norman also joining the list.
Mark C was busy booking Turkish Holidays, with Roger D sampling the cakes. Mark was glimpsing at the TV, showing Ladies Amateur Golf in Thailand . This one Lady was in the rough and assessing her options - bending shrubs and tapping the ground etc - Mark kept saying "She can't do that" - or "That's a penalty"..as she made a swing and failed to hit the ball. She called the Referee who came over and showed her the dropping options and she continued the round. About 10 Minutes later the TV showed that her score for that hole was changed to a 10 - as penalties were applied by a TV ref - but it wasn't a Cording phone-in honest....as Roger downed his 4th piece of cake without a care in the world.

2nd place with 84 Points - Two 3-point holes separated them from Winners who never carded less than 4. |
Well done to JW & CG for getting 3 Groups out early as Roll-Up numbers soon surpassed our reduced Friday allocation. 3 Groups were allowed across to 16th, but when they arrived back at 1st, there was already a build up of Tee-Time bookings from 09:45 onwards. They graciously let us carry-on but were soon up behind us and many turned around to go to the 6th...but to no avail as course was nose to tail

Cracker with the Ladies Monday 5th December
It will be a little different as playing off Red Tees will be novel for Seniors and certainly holes like 4th & 5th make a big change. It's a Shotgun Start so let's make the Club see that it is worth it by putting out over 50 players. It's a lot of fun so there is no reason not to get your name down and help thank The Ladies Section for all the help they give to us in our Opens throughout the Years.
