Surprisingly,
all 18 holes were open although the storms had brought down a couple of the
larger fir trees plus several smaller trees and boughs. There were a huge
amount of loose impediments blowing around the course.
The earlies sorted themselves out and the 0845's played a 2 from 3 Stapleford,
with a strong Nor'westerly blowing, effectively turning several holes into par
5's. As usual, afew started at 16. However, by the time the main field
had got to the 18th, it had been turned into a 115yd par 3, to allow the tree
surgeons to work in safety, so those groups played a different course to the
others.
Sadly, in consequence, the morning's competition will be voided and entry fees
returned.
Commiserations to Danny, Bob & Rob who returned a great score of 83 pts.
There was only one 2, but that was at the last, and the 2's competition will be
voided also.

Wenesday 16th February 2022
Having walked around on Monday, had to take a day off today, suffering from hamstring and back ache. Would have liked to play today as Friday is a complete mess with big gales and rain. Hope you all had a good walk round today in the muddy conditions.

Happy Valentines to all our Ladies
Ever romantic Sir Clive, thought he'd done everything right when he departed for Golf, Breakfast made for the lovely Val, Dishwasher emptied, flowers & card on the Table as he crept out of the door at 07:15...but on arrival home, he found he could have been a little more attentive to the card he chose...
John, this is the card I gave Val this morning, I thought
the words were appropriate but didn’t notice the couple.
Should have gone to Specsavers!
You can put it on the blog.
Cheers Clive
