Turkey Trott Stableford

Update from Captain:-

Evening everyone,

I have collected £6.00 from two new members.   Jamie Parkhouse  and Ricky Caddy..

...they might be entering the Individual Stableford on Weds.

Jamie runs Jays Property Maintenance based in Merriott and is multi talented so perhaps a mention on the blog as you did recently.

Ray tells us :  Ricky Caddy was a very useful golfer at Chedington, and he worked at Scotts Nursery Merriot so presume he is a gardener.

We look forward to welcoming them both to our Section.

FRI.    11th.    BOWMAKER 3 BALL STABLEFORD

Edmundo has replaced Ian Fat  09:22   grazie mille

Start Sheet in Internal Comps

MON. 14th.   4 BALL MEDALFORD

I’ve posted the draw for Monday, there is one vacant player required for the 9.38 slot, first come first served, and there plenty of available slots after that time. Norman has bagged the vacant slot.

I will keep the draw open over the weekend.

The Captain has asked me to carry out a totally random draw, similar  to a roll up, which I’ve done, (random number generator) and it has resulted in some interesting pairings.

Remember:- The the draw is totally random, so any complaints please forward to E.R.N.I.E  who also does the Premium Bond Draws.

Thanks,

John W

When asked if 4 Players chose the Team make-Up, JW Replied:-

Part of the fun is watching 4 Seniors arguing about who is playing Medal and who is playing Stableford. Of course they can choose who plays what,  and then after the round the incriminations and “I told you so”.  Have fun with your group.

Also Once decided, Teams stick with chosen format for 18 Holes, no changing format half-way etc - just subtract Stableford Score from the Medal Score...and try to get lower than 20....

CAPTAINS REPORT ON THE TURKEY TROT 2

This was an individual stableford played from the yellow tees and it produced some very good scores and a noticeable amount of birdies.    Are we all getting better or was the course playing easier?   Special mention to Chris Rudling with his 4 birdies, not seen the card but I am told more birdies than pars.

Also it is nice to see some different names In the winners enclosure.

The grass is still growing, so the practice divots on the winners lawns will soon grass over.   Or was it the time in lockdown to study where changes were needed?

Unfortunately the green keepers decided to relocate the pin on the 12th half way through the field.    Starting on the very dodgy temp and finishing on the main green.

I have voiced my concern to Alex and he was apologetic, so again we wait to see if it makes any difference.

The new World Handicap system, seems not to be causing many issues, other than working out 95 % on a cold winters morn.    Your best bet is record the gross score and let the computer do the rest.

Looking for some great Christmas appeal - Dickie Hall's daughter, has created this beautiful Gingerbread House , which comes with a bottle of Bubbly - It's up for Auction  to the highest bidder - your best offer please to richwd001@gmail.com

The Timberlay Cremant de Bordeaux is listed in the Times as one of the :-
The 40 best wines for Christmas 2020 and is not cheap:

This is really good cremant - foamy moussey bubbles, dry but not aggressively acidic, and freshly yeasty without tasting like you're baking brioche in your mouth. We've been so impressed by these, but unfortunately so have some media wine writers so the price is likely to escalate soon.

...Let's start him with £20.00   from JKP - so there's your starting bid please...
