3-Ball Texas Scramble
CAPTAINS REPORT
Sorry
for not writing a report for Wednesday, but Jeannie wanted a night at the
pub
and
very nice it was. The Bell at Broadway, was good and well organized,
with excellent
food
if slightly expensive.
As
for this morning, getting out of the car, albeit after 9am, was a shock
with that sneaky
North
Westerly. So the later starters certainly had an advantage.
Unfortunately the buggy
situation
altered the competition but those that played eventually enjoyed very
pleasant
conditions.
I have asked for the tees on 8 and 9 to have a haircut, so let us
hope they listen.
The
Vice Captain also requested a mention of divots and pitch marks, as the course
is quite
wet,
both these perennial issues are very noticeable. Please make every
effort to do your
bit
and a bit more. We do not want to hear bad press with Seniors
being blamed.
The
results have again been collated by John Wandless, so a big thanks to him.
The
new handicap indexes and rules threw up some interesting team allowances, but unfortunately as we could not discuss this in the bar afterwards, so the effects are not obvious.
We also do not get to see all the cards, with the scores going on the computer.
Hence why this report is wordy and lacking facts. Rumours are that on about the 16th, we could return to tier 1 allowing Alex to reopen catering and bar service, In the meantime at least we are playing golf.
Hi
guys,
As only
10 teams team, prize money for 1st and 2nd only, split 60% / 40%
