Monday 29th June 2020 Medal Qualifier

Monday 29th June 2020
 Medal Qualifier

Looking at Messages:-
Mike Hone &  Chris Rudling  defeated the tricky Edmundo & Keith Hunt Combo 2 Up to advance to the Quarter Finals.

Another great scrap was between Farmer Bob and Jolly Roger versus the In-Form Jeremy & Gordon - both playing very well at the moment and heading to single-figure handicaps - Jeremy's pair slip quietly into another QF Slot, winning 3 &2 'Hard fought Tussle' were Jeremy's Words.

Thanks for Picture Steve.

In the Singles, Mark Saunders advanced at the expense of Richard Holmes 5 & 4 .
Andy Rowland was 'eer ahead as he ended Dickie Hall's quest for Silverware.

believe the two posh ones played yesterday as The Constant Gardener tangled with Lord Asquith, but result unknown to Blog.

Not much news from Yesterday, so have to just show how Easy Jet are keeping costs down with take-off fuel burn...

And happy 100th Birthday...
to our Friends still in Lockdown.

Monday 29th June Medal Qualifier

A windy and cool day didn’t stop 63 seniors turning up to play in today’s Medal qualifier. The average score of 7 over par was indicative of tough conditions that only a few managed to master the windy situation. It was the highest number of turn up this year and I hope we keep the trend.

Please remember the ENTRY FORM FOR NEXT MONDAY’S STABLEFORD QUALIFIER IS PINED TO THE NOTICE BOARD OUTSIDE THE PRO SHOP. ENTRY WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY

Today’s results are listed below. Well done Gordon & Barrie for posting below par scores

Couldn't resist a little peek into the numbers to see where the damage was caused.

I'll leave the most incredible one to last and we demand a detailed description as to what happened !"

Looked for 'Double-Digit' scores and found plenty , with Mick, Malcolm & Ian all making a 10 on the 3rd Hole. The other Frost made 11 on the 4th along with Paul.  Eric was alone with his 12 shot battle on the 8th hole but even lonelier was 'Wild Bill' who carded an impressive 15 strikes on the very first hole !!!!

See the source image

We saved the best to the last, as this Man, generally considered the best and most consistent Senior for many years, - took just 72 Shots to complete holes 2 -18 . Unfortunately by the time he stood on grid reference ST 37083 08443 - that is the 2nd Tee - he had written the number 12 on line 1 of his score card....Oh Dear !

George was asking  how to join the 'Roll-Up' -can he just arrive and join-in.

The answer is definitely NO at the moment.

Mondays are always Qualifiers - so let captain know or add name to his list outside Pro Shop by the preceding Wednesday. For other Days you need to book on-line on our usual slots and Captain will

decide if there is an organized Comp running.   Ring Pro Shop and Alex / Lisa are always happy to help.
