********CHRISTMAS CRACKER UPDATE********
Due to forecast adverse weather conditions, the competition is postponed until Monday the 16th December 2019 (when the weather will be fine).
Winter League round 2
Dreadful weather conditions forced the 2nd round to be called off half way through. The greens were almost unplayable due to excessive surface water. Also as we were approaching the hilly parts of the course I had to consider if it was safe to carry on. On the 9th hole I toyed out with the idea of calling it all off but carried on to the 10th where we saw teams from holes 8, 9, 11 and 12th walking back to the club house. Called the pro shop and was told the green staff had gone to inspect the course and the likely outcome will either be closing the course or moving the flags to winter greens. Armed with this information we had no option but to call the round off.
There were a small number of eager golfers that were not deterred by the weather and decided to finish their round. I hope they enjoyed it and had fun.
We will discuss and make a decision if we are to reschedule this round or just have it as a void round. Watch the space.
