Just had a call from Minehead Seniors who have asked us to cancel their 2019 Fixtures with us as they have struggled to find teams all Year and their Captain has been in Hospital.
Called me on 07888750229 (for Info Barrie).

Farmer Bob told us about their trip to Brean on Thursday for the Open.Getting there was fine, golf was average, but journey home was a nightmare, taking over 3 Hours....no it's not Bob's driving...

It was a 7 Vehicle Accident when an HGV and 6 Cars entangled. The M5 was closed for 11 Hours, a Female driver in one car was killed, as was a Male in another. Another 4  went to Southmead & Musgrove Hospitals.

It's hard not to empathise with those poor people, simply queuing to exit the Motorway when an HGV ploughed into them during the early morning rush-hour, tis a fragile life we humans lead and we should remember to enjoy ever minute we are given.

Only 9 early and 26 late starters today to play in the Medalford, still on temps but it did stay dry, but oh what a wind that blew all morning, I played with Maurice and when he played a shot we had to stake him to the ground to stop him from blowing over, once I asked him to hold the flag, but he said that’s too dangerous as we may never see him again.
21pts was the best for a while, until someone came in with a score of 13, I understand that was the last straw for Frank, so I understand Mr Agar has now been chopped, then in the last group in came a 14. It was interesting to see that the top three were playing off 34, 24 & 37, take what you will from that.

Barrie Heath (Seniors Captain)

Hopefully the work will be completed before Friday..although Thursday looks bad !

..but others are not making it easy from them,
Tree on 12th Tee has split apart.

We have to say goodbye to Roy Miller on Friday as he is relocating to the Cotswolds to be with Family Members.  Ex Royal Navy Officer, Prison Officer and scorer of 52 Points in a 4BBB - Roy has never stopped smiling since he arrived and we have enjoyed his short & sweet stay with Cricket St Thomas Golf Club.

His one faux-pas was his persistent rudeness to Royal Navy Artificers wherever encountered.
