back to the Roll-Up.....
42 players, 15 early & 27 late played today, plus two doing
the Rolling Stableford in once again glorious sunny conditions with a slightly
fresher breeze to help us from boiling over.
Scores today were about what we would expect for this competition,
you can see why we play 2s in scrambles, as there were 38 birdies today, 10 by
the dream team, Ian, Danny & Maurice, which would have only paid out 18p
each.
five 2s today paying out £1.40
per player.

Rolling Stableford= John Wallis 38pts & Bryan Frost 36pts.
B. Heath (Captain) Take a look at those numbers and the number on 58 plus change. Now look at the picture below on the 16th hole. Barrie Heath drove the green and walked calmy up to mark it. He was suddenly disturbed by a whoosh and clatter as a ball hit the trees on the left.... You've guessed it, Barry had played his ball from short of the old green and that became the ball in play....and a long walk back for Barrie & Rod. Imaging if Barrie had been 6 inches from the pin and a certain 2...he would have had to pick it up. Now remember those numbers, Barrie & Co had a faultless round for the next 17 holes (started on 16th) - and the 4 here cost them 2nd place !!!
