3-Ball Scramble

Once again the Beast from the East stayed away and it was merely the Chill from Brazil. At one time, over on the West Course, it got very pleasant.

Early Birds had just 4 Players who went out and did their own thing with only Roger bothering with a card as they played a very popular 'Individual Medal.

Started on 5th as a mad Tractor-Driver was scattering hedge chippings far & wide ( Good call Dave) so 1-4 were off limits.

Roger was just 1 shot off winning everything on his own, but luckily no money changed hands.

Much more competitive on late roll-up as the Minus 4 Temperature did not even cause a raised eyebrow.
The 3 Star Players happened to be drawn in different Teams, which worked out very well.
We gave Bert & Bryan every chance with 15% extra shots - which Farmer Bob thought was handing it to them on a plate, with 12 Shots against his 4 shots - but the Mathematics did not go quite that way.

Bert had the opposite philosophy and reckoned a 2-ball had no chance against a 3-ball...but was pleasantly surprised when he discovered we had a Nett 51 and he had carded 48.

We had to wait a while until Dickie Hall came in with a better score, so just Mark & his gang to register...and it was so, so close and just 0.1 was the Difference in the end.

No-one managed a '2' so the 3 Birdies took 60pence each.

Just 2 Hours later it was lovely
Mick & Brian managed 10 Holes as the Buggies were off again. Keith just went Home.
Keith tells us that John Wallis was given a call last night and offered a chance to zoom up to Bristol for his Operation Today. Many thanks to Brian Marsh for Chaffeur Services.

Dickie Did his Monthly Swindle Draw Today, 150 Tickets.
First Prize was John MacOmish with Number 108 who wins a selection of fine wines. Second was Mark Sanders with 106 who won a Luxury box of Chocolates.

No Doubt the Captain is keenly watching the weather for Friday's March Hare. Most today thought there was little chance of it being played, but I guess he will wait until Thurs PM to see if the Beast from the East finally arrives as Forecast..so watch the Blog Banner Headline.
