Monday 12th February
4Ball- Brass-Balls

12 early birds played in the BB today plus 18 late starters, it was a job to spot your ball on the first
5 or so holes as the frost lay on the ground but the sun did burn it off eventually.

Wow some scores today, we had a 46 in then two 48s, Roger and I were going to write down the winners when right at the end in came Bill & Ian with 50pts & looking at their card they shared out the points quite well.
Dickie Hall described their Round " The Jammy Bas***ds kept chipping in from everywhere "

Please note any players who would need a buggy for the Challenge Cup at East Devon.

They have no buggies for hire and even if you take your own you can only use them on the first
9 holes, and their website states that visitors must provide an appropriate medical exemption
document and a valid insurance certificate before playing.

7 birdies today paying £1:00 per player.

We noticed a small pile of Easter Eggs building up in the Clubhouse with an appeal for more to be donated for a local charity, sorry I forget which one. They were not 'Giant Eggs', so no need to go too mad, but any additions I'm sure would be appreciated.

Tomorrow, of course, is Pancake Day.

B. Heath (Capt.)

Bernie had booked 07:30 slots to avoid Winter League...which is on Friday so Grrrrr

Tony & Ray getting the best of the weather...Brrrrr
Poor old Gordon came a cropper on icy path...and lost 2 points for his landing....SLrrrr...

Complete Covering- good call to stay off them.

but by 12:00 all was thawed out....
Jim Hewitt was back after 5 weeks with a broken hand...he seems to have recovered quite well after all but driving the 3rd Green and was not too far short on the 7th...a pretty handy 7 Handicapper.

50 Points.....Wow...

Bill & Ian playing the Crowd....
Most impressive feat was John Evans & Richard Forster as a 2-ball finishing in 2 Hours 41 Minutes ..
