Special Announcement

The Captain, Barrie Heath, has expressly asked that the money collected for the raffle at the Burns Day lunch on Wednesday. 24th January be donated to Dee instead of this years main charity.  Dee's husband Barry Pie died suddenly just before Christmas. You will remember them as cleaners at CST. Please be generous at this difficult time for Dee.

3 Ball Scramble
Update from Captain

Can I ask you to put a note on the blog that we are having a raffle at the Burn’s lunch on Wed 24th as we have some prizes which were not claimed after the xmas cracker raffle in November, I would like this raffle to be part of a donation to Dee Pye ( see report below) instead of to my charity, Dickie is arranging a hamper as well so if anyone has any bottles/chocs left over from xmas please bring them up for Dee,
perhaps we can do something else as well, any ideas!.
At least get this on the blog asap.  Barrie

Roll-Up Report 17/01/2018

Here we are again as the rain keeps falling on us, the official Roll-Up was cancelled today as when the 6 early birds ventured out only 9 holes were open but that soon changed and somehow, they managed to open all 18 with only a few on temps so they carried on and played a Hassle.

15 late starters decided as it was so wet to only play 15 holes as a 3-man Texas scramble with 4 drives each and one sixth of the combined handicap.
The winning team who took all the spoils came in for a bit of stick for having 13.83 shots over 15 holes but as their gross score was 60 only beaten by a 59 from the runners up I can’t say too much.

Health warning...some of the words above my be inferred rather than actually been written by the Captain.

Bogies just take that bit longer....

News from David Walgrove about the CST Cleaners  ( Barrie & Dee) that we got so used to seeing around the place every morning, keeping the place spick & span.

Barrie  Pye had a headache at 5pm on the 8th of Dec( think that was the exact date ) and was dead in musgrove by 8am the next morning. He had a massive bleed on the brain.

Wife, Dee who David is  trying hard to support was wrecked as you would imagine. Barrie controlled all the paperwork ,bank  accounts etc and died with all the codes and passwords. It was tough to get it back on track. It has been a financial crisis  for Dee , as CST management are taking the  services 'back in house.'  Dee is into her last 2 weeks there .  Steve has kindly kept Dee cleaning at Metaltech.

Some of the bar/ kitchen staff came to the funeral which was great.

He was a firm life long West Bromwich Albion  fan ,so if he's able to pull a few strings up there ,they won't be relegated!!

Thanks for the interest shown by Members asking about Barrie.
How about the Burns Lunch on Wed 24th being a little 'Fund-Raiser'  for Dee Captain ?
