Winter League Round 4
Boy did the sun shine today as long shadows made shots into the sun pretty tricky.
20 teams
made up of one or two players took part in the 4th round today in
some lovely sunshine,
although the day started with is it on or is it too wet for a full 18 holes, well as you know we played in some very slippery conditions as Bert Robinson found out to his cost as he had a nasty fall and had to walk in, Bert we all hope you are ok and hope to see you next week.

Some of the
scores I thought were amazing today as you can see below, Frank was buzzing
around checking
cards so look out for the end of year review.

It was nice
to see the Vice Captain PSF up and about and enjoying a pint or two, he said
that he has lost weight
so the beer was needed to build himself back up to his former glory.
so the beer was needed to build himself back up to his former glory.
I also heard
a rumour that the roll-up which was winner takes all was won by Stuart Pope
with 36pts, sorry guys I know we’re all going to regret that I mentioned it but
well done Stuart.
Those in red
played on their own today plus there were 10 birdies paying 0.90p to each
player.

Leaders had a great round, but a mistake by James on 17th may have cost them the Win. James all but drove the Temp Green, but accidentally touched his ball whilst flicking away debris...and a penalty ensued.
but just behind them Quinny was writing down a lovely 5 points for Martyn Putland after a birdie on the 10th...where he got 2-shots...
..aren't you impressed that our Camera Teams are always in the right place....
Not many will be able to identify the lonely figure on the 15th...after he lost his partner Bertie who had to retire hurt, hope you are OK Bert.
Talking about hurt..what a recovery by Peter 3-names as he was proudly ,showing off his new knee. He can't turn left yet until he gets the other one done. He looks very fit and enjoying a few beers at last with nurse Jan in the background.
talking about Knees, Desmond Denning has been seen out and about with his new joint so hopefully Des & Celia will be up to see us some time soon.
Alan Chance was up with a few of Chard's favourite Cameraman's Pictures, Mr Wheadon.

Just had ( by co-incidence) a message from Ray Gudge.
John, I have been asked by some of my old colleagues at Bass, if I could find out who was in charge of the wines and spirits bonded warehouse in Chard 60's and 70's
Would you know if any of our Seniors were born and bred in Chard ??? they may be able to help me
