3 Man Stableford – 1st April 2016
A warm welcome to Wallace
Kerr who played his first match with the Seniors today.
He joins us from Chedington via Wheathill . That's a 54 Mile round trip as he lives in Willow Way, Chard...good decision Wallace.
........Wallace tells us that Bill Hughes & Len Vincent also joined the Club today

A modest 7 rolled-Up early but they just kept coming until 08:59.5 ( Mike) when 38 more names were on the table, 4 groups went over to the 16th...well nearly as Stuart headed East to the practice range causing the Captain to walk all the way back to gather him up !
The format was three
man teams with all to score. Apologies to those who had difficulty entering
their scores to the computer. Nevertheless, the additional data will be useful
to Frank Martin when handicaps are being assessed. Last year, so many
qualifiers resulted in the matches being classified as non-qualifiers, that it
is considered necessary for more information to be made available to the
handicap secretary to make an accurate assessment.
Today’s star performer was
undoubtedly Bryan Frost who scored 39 points contributing to his team’s 103
points, 6 ahead of their nearest rivals. Bert Robinson scored 37 points and
these two were to the only players to beat 36 points in somewhat difficult and
cold conditions.
There were 12 birdies each
paying £1.50 per team.

Three seniors played in the
Rolling Stableford.
Richard Forster 31 points
Bernie Skeels 29 points
John Wallis 23 points
Last months Rolling
Stableford was won by Nick George, but he was only entrant, so it has been
decided to carry over his score to this months competition. Nick currently lies
in second place with 30 points. With only 30 Days in the Month, I am confident he will reap his due reward !
The team to play at Wheathill
on Thursday 7th April can be seen under Interclub matches.
..and finally, after a year away THE CLOCK IS BACK !
