Winter League (Round 6) – 29th  February 2016

Wow - a day we've long awaited as all Cars were diverted to rear-park as the heavy machinery arrived.

A glorious day for round 6 of the Winter League which was very closely contested with three pairs vying for first place, each pair scoring 40 points. I can confirm that Stuart Pope scored two birdies and came dangerously close to scoring two more. To his dismay, there are no birdie payouts in the Winter League.

By the time we had finished 4 holes, the start looked a lot different...

Maurice Arnold and Richard Forster closed the gap on Roger Stone and John MacOmish by two points, but, of course this can be deceiving when the two lowest scores are discounted at the conclusion of the competition. Watch Barrie Heath and Trevor Dobson when their zero score is discounted.

Even Iain Roland was forced to use the proper path today as they made the Marquee entrance a little less subtle.

The first three places were as follows :

1. Trevor Dobson and Barrie Heath           40 points

2. Robin Flower and Martin Leigh             40 points

3. Maurice Arnold and Richard Forster      40 points

The full results can be found in the  Winter League Section as updated by Malcolm Roy.

Seven members played in the Rolling Stableford. The results were as follows :

1. Keith Potter               37 points    £7.00

2. Vic Gane                    32               £3.50

3. Mick Aldridge            32

4. Peter Spencer Farr     30

5. Phil Hunt                             28

6. Ron Sutherland                   28

7. Tony Stenhouse                  d/q

I mentioned the competitions to be played during the period 7th April to 10th April. The Seniors event will be played on Friday 8th April and will be an individual Stableford. There will be a £2.00 entry fee, + 50p “2”s option.  The Prizes will be paid in vouchers and will be £75 for the winner, £50 for second place and £25 for third place. In addition, there will be a 3 “man” mixed Texas Scramble on Sunday with similar shared prizes, followed by a prize draw in the evening when the prizes will be £200, £100 and £50 vouchers. However, you will have to be present to collect these prizes.

And by the time we left, looking backwards towards the Clubhouse has changed forever !

Entrance and Exit to Main Park will be direct from the front .
This will change daily for the next 13 Days, so please take great care when entering Club Premises.
