The winners will be cut 2 shots and the runners up will be cut 1 shot from next Monday for two weeks.

There were four entries to the January Rolling Stableford. It was decided that for this month, only 15 holes will count as we have already had 6 rounds over 15 holes. Making the most of his recent handicap increase, Andy Beale blitzed the course scoring 37 points (on 15 holes don’t forget), followed by Jerry Stephens (36), Colin Ireland (29) and Alan Chance (25).

The course was very wet today and trolleys were cutting up the ground very badly. Some of the early players (using trolleys) said that they felt that it was a mistake to allow them. I spoke to the Head Greenkeeper who said that the decision to allow trolleys was to enable more Seniors to play. However, if you are able to carry your clubs, you should do so. Furthermore, in the interests of the general condition of the course, the Seniors may decide to limit rollup competitions to the top nine holes until conditions improve. It will be in our long term interests.

Nobby was all smiles today as he walked in with his Tesco Shopping. Asked why he was so happy, he replied "They just charged me 5p for the carrier bag".
Still confused, he was pushed further and added "Well that means I have about 300 Quid's worth under the Kitchen Sink !"

Andy the Chef is keen that we have a good showing for the Burns Lunch on Monday 25th January - Just a bit of fun after the golf, Ladies are most welcome to join us and see the Haggis piped in and slaughtered by a special 'guest star' Scotsman. Add your name to the list on NB or let Captain know.
