Only 15 holes open and we were lucky to have that after 2 inches of rain yesterday. Walking boys were 6 in number today.
Captain gave Maurice and Brian the Phantom Pro today as there was no value in a 15-Hole Stableford and generously allowed them to use him 4 times on each half due to the conditions. In the event they used him 5 times, so that discussion was well worth it !!!
Everyone clamoured to be partnered with the Money Winning form players, Vic & Phil - but despite drawing them in teams with stars like Danny, Farmer Bob and Roger - the magic was gone and that's it for another year.
There was a big scrap in 2nd place, with Hilson's Hillbillies dropping 3 behind after 8, but a 6,5,5 finish was enough to steal a 1 shot handicap reduction from John Pearce who wasn't looking forward to playing off 13 next week (phew).
Out in front by 24 points from Danny and Co , were Stuart Pope and Co. Danny's 2,1,4,2, finish was just not good enough against Stuart's 5,5,5,6 - with Dapper Des popping in a birdie for good measure. Norman bagged 15 points on the back 6 on his own.
Usual Cuts for the Winner and 2nd despite Stuarts plea for mercy, Roger would not be moved.
