Medalford  – 9th December 2015

There was a mis-communication with the early group who went out playing in pairs, when a majority decision was made a few weeks ago that this format would be better played in fours and the rollup formats on the web site were amended accordingly. In the event, one pair didn’t return a score, and another retired early. The scrutineer then combined the cards of Martin Bargery, Brian Marsh, Andy Beale and Clive Fisk on a better ball basis to bring them into line with the remainder of the field. They were, however, narrowly beaten into third place.

The three leading teams were well ahead of the rest of the field. Only 2 prizes were awarded as the entry was relatively low.

There were 6 birdies paying £2.40 per team.

The usual handicap reductions apply, 2 shots for the winners and 1 shot for the runners up. It has been suggested that the four week reduction in domestic handicaps is too long, and that this should be reduced to one week. I would like to know the members views on this matter. Please email me with your views as clearly this is a long established principle and I cannot change it unilaterally.
