I'm confused how a cemetery can raise its funeral prices and

blame it on the cost of living ?

Wow - What a round by Danny !
Right from the start, he had the perfect 3-ball, drawn out with  Hunt & Heath, that's Phil not Keef !
OK, start could have been a little better, with a 6 on the First.  Phil showed him how to do it, without recording a single double-bogey all day.
Danny Birdied the 2nd and he was underway, card below shows his round - especially the Back-9.

His handicap - well today it is nearly a whole  stroke lower than it was yesterday.

Congrats to Nick Hill for winning Division 3 - having won Money on Monday.  On Monday Nick completed Holes 12 & 13   with 3,3 - Technically 4 under Par,.   Yesterday he took 6 on 12th and 5 on 13th - It's this consistency that has made him the Golfer he is today.

Also Well-Done Dougie Oliver & Welcome-Back after cardiac surgery - as he finished with 3 straight Pars showing he still has the heart for the game.

Temperature hit 30 Degrees in Yeovil, so I suspect CST came pretty close - but don't bother watering the Garden today - we had plenty of overnight rain.

Another stirring result in the Avalon League , winning 3-2 and putting them in a great position to win promotion for 2025 - don't know who, don't know where they played - but no doubt someone will tell us.

Summer Knockout

Keef Hunt takes out Chris Gingell to advance to Semi-Final where he awaits the heavyweight clash between  Brent & Gabb..bet Nick wishes he still had his Callaway Rescue Club..

More battles in the Summer KO Pairs

In a fiercely contested clash  between Peter  -3-names & The Welsh Dragon took  out   MH & MJ    2 & 1

We were ( noisily) teeing off on 12th as they were on 14th  and got a few stares as Martyn sunk a long Putt - and it felt like a 3 from 4 Roll-Up was a lot more fun than the Summer KO- apologies for the disturbance.

Barrie Heath was all alone against Farmer Bob & Jolly Roger as his Partner James Siabi ( Planner, Architect , Organiser, Expediter) - had gone away.

Quarter Finals are Complete

Barrow / Stone v   Spencer-Farr / Williams

Gingell / Hildred    v Cording  / Davis

Bookies are confident, Roger will make it to the Finals.

Fun at Roll-Up as Captain, Vice, Chris , James were  all in action elsewhere so it was left to remainder to organise and  Mark Kilpatrick to quickly calculate how to make 4-Teams  from   25, 26, 27, 28, 29  ( kept changing)  - and in a flash said  Three 3-balls and Five 4-Balls  with a Phantom Pro- Thanks Mark...

Keith on 4th - 2nd shot 175 Yards to edge of Green, 2 putts and 4 Points for the Team...

Bargains of The Month
Grasshopper Classic, which as you can see is the only way to get  across the Cochran block-paving driveway...£2,000 reduction of Cost Price, New Tyres & Fresh Air. - New Platinum Batteries and an empty basket and very trendy 'blacked-out' livery  Contact Neil on 07890 769630..but hurry as deals of this kind are quickly snapped up on the Blog..used by Dr Alastair Cochran - Influential Golf Scientist...buggy has probably never been off the Fairway...

John, if it is allowed, could you ask on the blog if anyone would be interested in my Dad's buggy:  Grasshopper Classic - It was bought in October 2022 (£3000) and has been used about once or twice a week since then.  The batteries were replaced in January 2024 (2x Platinum 75 AH, £588).  The tyres are 'as new' with the rubber nobbles still there, but there are marks on the left side of the battery cover where feet have scuffed when getting in and out.  It is a bit bigger than most personal buggies.  In theory it disassembles to fit in a car but it is a bit fiddly and heavy so would probably have to be stored at the club.

Asking price £1000.

But there's More

Nick Gabb has a pristine Callaway x-Series 3 Rescue which cost him over £100 and only  swiped in anger a handful of times. Slight nicotine stains on grip and burn marks on face... Nick just could not get on with it. He has generously offered proceeds to Captain's Charity .   Offers over £25 accepted ..but JKP has already offered £30  (hence the slightly altered description !.) ...believe Alan the Bar Manager is also considering an offer...   Contact James Lauchlan on Whatsapp or 07544 285612

Golf Weekly reports
If you’re a Callaway fan who loves how its clubs sound powerful, even when you don’t hit the perfect shot, you won’t be disappointed with the X Hybrid. Shots ring off the face just like Callaway fairway woods of old. It’s a solid rescue that will do a brilliant job in the hands of the club player.
