9 April 2018

Monday 9th April 2018
3 Ball Scramble & Sidmouth Match

Plus the result of the April Rolling Stableford.

Brian Marsh       42pts  £7.00
Phil Dewar          37
Ron Sutherland  34
Due to the April weather conditions not many took part (5 entries) so only a small pay-out I’m afraid.

April Multiple Individual 2's on a single Day Comp.
Mike Hone 9th April  - 9th & 16th - £.0.25p
..and back to Roll Up...

It was a bit tricky at the start

Got better for a while and then turned again as the Match started...

& stuck with Hilson for 5 Hours...and then get whooped 7&6, that's downright unsociable Billy.
..but I guess it could have been worse...

Captains Match Report vs Sidmouth (home) 09/04/2018

We played today in a steady drizzle + misty conditions and the fine rain does find a way through your bag and clothes eventually, this all made the course once again very muddy in places.

Peter said to me that one of their guys had a bad day but did get a 2 on the 9th
if I wanted to mention it, then I found out that Mike Hone had two 2s sorry Mike we didn’t pay out on 2s today.

As to the result yes, we were at home but that was some hammering we gave
Sidmouth today, no doubt they are already plotting revenge for the return match in July.

We are due to play Rushmore on Thursday, but this is likely to be cancelled due to the amount of rain we are having, but this will be decided later.

Match Result =

B. Heath/ I. Fielder                            Halved
B. Barrow/ J. Macomish                Won 4 & 3
R. Stone/ M. Hone                          Won 4 & 3
G. Wallace/ R. Hall                          Won 4 & 3
R. Davis/ B. Hilson                           Won 7 & 6
P. Spencer-Farr/ B. Singleton        Won 6 & 5

Match Won 5 ½ - ½

A big thankyou to all for turning out I know some of you did put your names down Last minute to help me out and that includes the reserves as well.

B. Heath (Captain)
..Gordon missing for 6 Months...
Why are we just playing Two'se Today ?.... David happy as Phil is back in France for a while, Quel Domage !
It looked like Martin & Co had won today until Junior Adjudicator Norman checked the addition and adjusted the 35 or 36 to 37 which was just enough to drop them to 2nd place.
Remember, all you have to do is record the Gross Score in the correct column, we can forgive the odd mathematical error.

So that promoted Mr Whirly & Co to first place with new Senior Jeremy off to a good start.

As usual with a Scramble, the best Gross score won once more.
